Shehzad is a public opinion researcher specializing in crisis and transitional countries. He was previously a senior project manager and analyst at a New York-based strategic polling research and political consulting firm where he designed and fielded surveys for strategic communications, business and economic growth, democracy and governance, and rule of law projects in Afghanistan, Benin, Jordan, Syria and Turkey, on behalf of government, non-profit, and corporate clients such as the U.S. State Department, U.S. Department of Defense, GiZ, IREX, and Dalberg among others.
Shehzad has written extensively on U.S. foreign policy in Afghanistan, Pakistan and India, the Taliban insurgent movements, and U.S. counterinsurgency. His op-eds and essays are regularly featured in Foreign Policy, Huffington Post, World Politics Review, and World Affairs magazine, among others, and he also has published several policy and peer-reviewed academic papers. He is regularly invited to give lectures and lead seminars on U.S. foreign policy and South Asian security.
Mr. Qazi holds a master of arts in International Relations from New York University and a bachelor of arts in International Studies from Indiana University, where he was awarded the Faculty Medal of Academic Distinction.
